Brake Repair questions
Why do my brakes squeal?
Most often the pads are worn to the wear indicator, or there is rust or glazing on the rotors. We check which it is before recommending anything.
Do I need new rotors every time I get new pads?
Not always. If the rotors are thick enough and not warped or badly pitted, they can often be reused. We measure and tell you.
How long does a brake job take?
A pad and rotor job on one axle is usually done the same day, often within a couple of hours.
What does a grinding noise mean?
Grinding usually means the pads are worn through and metal is touching the rotor. Stop driving on it if you can and call us.
How often should brake fluid be changed?
Many manufacturers recommend every two to three years. We can test your fluid and tell you if it is due.
Do you work on truck and van brakes?
Yes. We do brake work on cars, pickups, SUVs and vans, including heavier work trucks.
